What I do

I’m an AI ethicist with years of experience in research, media, and public engagement, and have been recognised as one of Computing’s 30 Under 30 and as one of the 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics for my work.

Lecturer and Researcher

As a Senior Research Fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence (LCFI), University of Cambridge, I conduct world leading research on AI ethics, with a specific focus on AI, discrimination, and inequality. I previously worked as a Research Fellow at the AI Now Institute, a leading AI policy think tank in New York. I also teach Master’s students about AI ethics through the LCFI’s two Master’s programs.

I undertook all three of my degrees at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge, as a Girdler’s Scholar and a Gates Cambridge Scholar.

I’m the author/co-editor of five published or forthcoming books, including Feminist AI and The Good Robot: Why Technology Needs Feminism. I’m represented by Imogen Morrell at Greene and Heaton.
